THE MUNICIPAL REGIONAL COUNCIL OF ARGENTEUIL
The Chemin du Terroir in the Argenteuil MRC proposes a discovery tour of a Laurentian’s area that is often missed, even though it harbours many a secret worth sharing, just waiting to be checked out.
Even at a first glance, as you pass through Saint-André-d’Argenteuil, Brownsburg-Chatham and Lachute, you’ll notice the impressive architectural heritage of our charming villages and townships left to us by past generations reaching back for more than three centuries! In deed, many of our buildings form part of the Laurentian’s cultural heritage: the old canal, museum, churches and centennial homes. The many artists and craftspersons who have elected residence here will tell you that they did so for the peace and calm, as well as the pleasure of living in a landscape that could easily provide inspiration for the great masters of old.
As for the delights of agritourism, come and discover a producer of black currant wine or maple syrup. Sample and appreciate the freshness of local produce and look out for regional specialties in a boutique committed to organic farming and fair trade. And this might be your first opportunity to meet that elegant and friendly creature, the alpaca.
All along the Chemin du Terroir, you’ll find municipal parks, roadside picnic areas and an observation belvedere inviting you to stop and relax a while.
